I would like to present my RIG.B project!
This was a project commissioned by Autodesk. The brief was to build a modular robot in Maya that would be use in a competition released by Autodesk via the Rookies.
The design of the RIG.B robot was a collaboration between myself and the rigger, Mike Waterworth, all under the watchful eye of Autodesk itself.
The rigging of RIG.B had to allow motion capture data to be used to drive the character. Mike decided to use HumanIK in Maya.
Mike and I developed a process that allowed us to communicated what could and what could not be adjusted within the design. This process allowed us to not only create a stunning visual design but also create a design that could be correctly animated by the motion capture data.
It was a fun project that allowed both Mike and myself to learn and develop our skills and learn a good workflow for making mechanical models.
